We headed out to the first round of Battle of the Border-OK Cross Country Racing Association (OCCRA) vs Arkansas Cross Crountry (AXC) this weekend, the first round being in Arkansas and the second next weekend in Oklahoma.
I had sent my shock off for rebuild and a softer spring by Mr. Fredette, and it barely made it back in time to leave for the race...in fact I had to chase the UPS man down so I could get it. Slapped it together real quick, and off we went to Arkansas.
I was excited to see how my new (rebuilt, revalved, respringed) shock would do. The track had an awesome mix of terrain from slow rocky terrain, to up a mountain and back down, and a mild MX track and was one of the most fun tracks I've been on. At first, I didn't really notice a real difference in the shock, but after the race I realized there was a very big difference in that I wasn't completely exhausted and beat all to heck, despite the terrain being quite a bit rougher than the previous race, which completely wore me out. In fact, I felt more comfortable than ever, and actually felt competitive in my class. Overall, I ended up 5th of 13 in my class, so I was happy
There was one other KDX in the race in the line behind me. This gentleman was much faster than me, passing me on the second lap...I followed him up the "horsepower hill" on the third lap. I wish I had video of that...
Anywho...had a great race and a lot of fun on the KDX. Now I need to rebuild the front forks. I asked Jeff to send me his tool, but it wasn't in the box, so I guess he missed it...I'll probably try one of the DIY tools I've seen in recent posts.
Here's a couple of pics of myself and the other KDX at the race.

Did you end up losing the visegrips in your toolbag? Looks like they are barely hanging in there!

You know I got home and started washing my bike and realized the toolbag was open. Everything was gone except a spark plug. I thought I may have lost them on the way home until I saw this pic...I had to reorder everything last night that I had.dedgery207 wrote: ↑11:45 am Apr 15 2021 Did you end up losing the visegrips in your toolbag?
