Daytona Dirt Riders are holding the Alligator Sprint Enduro on the 28th. Our trailboss is none other than doakley's buddy, KDX master DDR26. He photo is further up in this thread when Mr. doakley rode the Alligator.

This year's Alligator will be much more sedate and will prove to be a fun ride. Roll down a little further southwest to Daytona and ride with us.

Amen! I say again, the Alligator is a heck of a lot of fun and no matter how bad the weather, it's likely better in Florida ! Plus you get the benefit of swinging by Daytona for Bike Week while you are here. If I were physically able to ride yet, I'd be in Florida!
C'mon down and do some brappin', FLORIDA STYLE!

Hey that’s awesome! I kept hoping to bump into you (after the race!) and meet you. Was really disappointed that Doug wasn’t able to come.

Right now we are only planning to race the VCHHS and make a points run. I need to learn to stay off the ground though, I have never been so sore after any race before.
That KDX fender got its tail snapped off again and I didn’t know it - so I can’t weld it back on. Jeff has mailed me a new Maier one so I’ll try that for awhile.
It’s funny I felt the same way when I saw yours go by!! You looked smmooooth!!!!

Did you see any others at the race?

Gotcha. I've never done any of the Virginia harescrambles. Mostly stick to nchsa and Mideast stuff since I live near Charlotte but now after doing Sumter I'm kinda hooked on the enduro format and plan to do a few more nepg and setra races.

950 riders and I only seen our 2 kdx's

You should both ride the SETRA Sandlapper enduro on 2/28. Similar to Sumter but not quite as tight. It’s a good run.

Been signed up for a couple weeks! Can't wait to get down there and ride it for the first time. I was really hoping to get some more practice on the kdx before the sandlapper but this weather has been complete trash. I'm still getting used to the bike as I've only had it a couple months but Ive felt really comfortable on it right from the start.

What row are you on? Will you be camping at Sandlapper? They have a decent food service set up inside the firehouse to benefit the VFD.

Moonstomper, I'm going to try to be at Sandlapper. At least I have the weekend off. C'mon down and let's get a chance to meet!

Anybody else?

Row 65. Yep planning to get there mid day sat and camp. I'll have to checkout the vfd food. I've got a few riding buddies coming and 1 might ride his kdx to.

You guys should head out West and ride the AMRA Copper Classic Restart Enduro March 6. Would love to see a bunch of KDX's at our race. :supz:

I know, too far for anyone to want to drive but I had to throw it out there!

Right now I’m hoping to arrive Friday afternoon to check out Saturday’s dual sport ride. Look for my gold Chevy pick up with a small 5x8 cargo trailer, black with Kawi green 3-stripe along the bottom. I usually try to park right across from the VFD so I’m close to food!

Last night I pulled my oem forks to take them to Travis @ GoRace Suspension in Blacksburg for a rebuild and his magical Belgian Valve tune.

This guy is famous for his innovative tuning solution on the WRs. Can’t wait to feel what this bike feels like when he’s done. He says it will still feel like an awesome trail bike but way racier.

Come down to the Sandlapper to test out those new forks!

Could it be? Is this the infamous "Moonstomper" flashing through the trees at the Sumter National Enduro?

And is he being chased by none other than "Uwharriewelder" hot on his heels setting him up for the pass?

Dang! Moonstomper has his own custom jersey! Haha! Now I'm even more curious where the name came from?

Look at those beautiful trail machines in their natural habit though.

Yeah he was definitely about to pass! I made it easier by taking frequent soil samples along the course. The jersey is custom, I’m a member of a rather diverse and steadily expanding group of mountain bike riding/racing, rock climbing, skiing, beer drinking guys who are known to slap stickers featuring our mascot in random places around the world as seen here in Moab...

My buddy and his wife do the artwork for the jerseys and come out with something new every couple years. The one I’m racing in is actually my current mtb enduro racing jersey. Here’s a throw back to the year we did our first jersey at the Shenandoah Mountain 100 some years ago...

Hey MS. That looks like great group. But I’m sure you will understand why they immediately makes me rub my collarbone!
PS. Spare bicycle tubes can be made into very serviceable arm sling / strap.

Yeah we’ve learned a lot of backcountry first aid over the years. Was a helicopter rescue swimmer in the Navy and I got Wilderness Certified awhile back. I stabilized my son’s broken leg this way when he was 7. Life happens if you live it hard enough.

eBay score :supz: Rounded up some klx300 forks and going to get them on this week just in time for sandlapper. I don't usually make big changes to a bike before a race unless I can get some ride time on them first but I'm braking my rules this time. Going to throw them on and hope for the best at sandlapper. Haha
