kx250 1993 cylinder issue with power valve on kdx250

hi there
i got a nice dud's replated cylinder and matching piston from ebay. i notice it has a center power valve flap, unlike the older models that share kdx. the flap is floppy with wear and at the end of range gets stuck.
should i bother fixing it or just throw it out?
