Started digging into the KDX that was in this package deal. Found paperwork on recent top end in the repair manual, really good compression, paperwork on a new EBC clutch, found the pipe that's on there to be the k30 desert rev pipe (not sure how I feel about that, the woods pipe is the cat's meow where I ride), boyesen reed cage, all kinds of little FRP stuff (bar clamp, short kicker, chain guide), all the armor, seat cover, graphics, etc. Really reaffirming that this machine was loved, needs a little cleaning up from sitting in the shed but in pretty good shape. The only bad deal I have found is the drain plug is stripped out, I've put a universal rubber expanding one up in there and it seems to be doing its job.

Was quite surprised at the jetting though; 152 main, 35 pilot, and a CEL needle. I have no experience with that reed cage, pipe, or different needle, but the 35 pilot jet kind of freaks me out so I bumped it up to a 38. I really have only ridden the thing maybe a mile for the test ride when I bought these things, but it seemed to run fine with that jetting and the plug that I replaced didn't look to be concerning to me. I may have to dig into some of the jetting sections here to see if anyone else is running a similar setup.

As I said I am not too sure on how I feel about the rev pipe on there, I guess I can put the stock back on there as I have that for it too. But I hate to go from performance pipe to stock, even though stock probably has more of the bottom end I'm looking for.

Chicks with these infinity tattoos don't seem to find the humor in it.

That’s ironic considering those are usually the sluts

You got a great deal!

A buddy of mine, treelimb on here, has the Boyesen Rad Valve. He likes it.

On the pipe, just wring it and fling it around the woods. You'll be all right.

The desert pipe is just fine for tight woods riding. It’s got more bottom end than even stock so I wouldn’t swap back.

Finally got a chance to play with the new KDX I picked up. Kind of cool riding a couple of them back to back to see the differences. I definitely prefer the woods pipe at this point, as I am just getting into my stride. But I think it will do just fine in the woods, and I can always hop on that one after I get warmed up. Also got the old lady to hop on the old E-Series for the first time and she did well. I'll post some pictures of this newly acquired KDX.

Yea I noticed it was tight loading it back onto the trailer, thanks for the heads up though. I'll have to school the roommate on chain tension, probably shouldn't of sold that thing to him a couple years back...

The chain on the newer one looks a touch tight, too.
