98 kx250 broken case....question on interchanges
hey folks...my son was out riding today on his 98 kx250 and his chain broke....got bunched up in CS and unfortunately, broke the case.. from the number code on case states that its a 97 case KX250KE0(24960) i have a set of cases from a 95 KX250KE0(11852)....Does anybody know if beings both the 97 and 95 are in the (K) series should they interchange? thanks in advance....

Re: 98 kx250 broken case....question on interchanges
Doesn't look like it. After a quick glance at some parts listings, seems the 95 was a one-off. He can use 97,98,99 which all show the same crankcase part number, 14001-1241. The original was 14001-1219, but that seems to have been superseded.

98 kx250 broken case....question on interchanges
pulled everything apart today...at this point, it looks as if everything is going to work...However, on the trans bearings that are held in by a keeper clip and single screw....are they always a pain to get out? i tried to remove the ones on the broken case just to see how difficult. first one wasnt to bad but the others stripped. And i even used heat and a manual impact tool. Any suggestions
