Going to look at one tomorrow. Seller says needs a new top end. Pics show it probably needs more than that. Bike is complete. He's asking $200

Not sure why I'm going to look at it honestly. It's cheap and it would be nice to have a "buddy bike".

Anything specific to look for with these? Decent deal at $200? Bike has a dent free fmf pipe on it. Figured that alone is worth $100.

Any of the parts on this thing fit the KDX? USD forks?

IMO, nothing worth swapping to the KDX but I guess the forks would be better than stock KDX forks. Just make sure it doesn't have a hodge podge of bolts holding it together, that the shifter isn't stripped out and/or welded on, and other crazy stuff like that. I would even kick the engine over slowly listening for any bad sounds and how it feels while kicking. Also, due to it's age, parts are starting to get harder to find.

Forks are bolt on to KDX

Known problems are cracking on frame near aluminum shock towers, easily stripped case drain plugs, and crankcase leakage.

If it needs a top end, you wanna inspect the Kips system pretty closely, as many of it's components are no longer available.

Forks/front end swop onto the kdx along with the front brake calliper , also the carb is 36mm & will fit onto the kdx but you will need to jet to suit.....I run a 36mm carb from a 1990 kx & it works well
