I did actually. Mine seemed to be off until i put the round actuator "pulley" back onto the shaft. I was just pulling on the shaft before and apparently wasnt getting enough leverage on it. I have heard of them being off by a tooth though.

Ok here's where I'm at.

Got the crank back balanced with pro-x rod kit installed, and installed with new main bearings and seals.

Also the crack welded...

Installed the transmission tonight. Going to make a thread adapter for the case puller to install the left case half

All together now

Here is the home made 2 in 1 case splitter / left case installer

Center threaded rod has a rounded end at one end for a case splitter, and a thread adapter at the other end to grab the crank at the flywheel side

I've really grown to love the design of those model (99-02 ) kx's. Mine has a set of fat bars without crossbar, which ruins the looks of the bike to me. I also think green side panels really set those bikes off. Yellow plate backgrounds look awesome too.

Too much money in it. Ended up being a bit more than anticipated. Credit card collecting interest

The bike runs great by the way, we had it out yesterday on the ATV trails. Power feels very manageable, but open the throttle and WOW better hold on.

The bike sits a lot higher so that makes it a little harder on trails. The suspension adds more confidence over the rough stuff. The KX shock has great rebound absorption, something I wish the KDX had
