I just had the fork seals replaced on my boy's new to him KX65. The brake pads needed replacing in a very bad way, not to mention I'm sure they have been coated in fork oil by the previous owner. I picked up a set of Tusk pads and tried to put everything back together this afternoon. Didn't go so well. I am not able to slide the wheel into place because there is not room for the brake disk. I pushed the piston back in but that is not the problem. There is a "raised" portion of the caliper itself that does not give enough clearance between that and the inside brake pad. How do I fix this?
Ideas? Is there something I'm missing here? Don't have a manual for this one.

Re: '08 KX65 front brake issues
I believe I have discovered my issue. The caliper does not "float" like it should. I guess tomorrow I will be trying to take it apart and alleviate that issue.

Success...the pins were "seized" within the caliper. Got it all back together and functioning correctly now.

All disc calipers float on pins. They need cleaned and greased periodically, like you discovered.
