New to me YZ

Post by gsa102 »

Guys, I finally gave up on the WR450 and traded for a YZ 250. Its and 09 and oh so fast. Wifey is a little chafed about it though (what's in it for her?)

It will be getting all the take-offs from the WR, and probably a flywheel weight. I am going to see if the rekluse will fit. I will still race the kdx on muddy and tight tracks like I did yesterday.

Yes, I had the KDX with purple tank and seat, # 102. The KDX worked well, except on the whooped out stuff, and there was a lot of that. It climbed the muddy uphills pretty well, but I could have used more power. I didn't even attempt Franks' hill, which I have done on the 450. It's long but not THAT steep. My kid has done it on his KX65.

If you cant fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem.

I had to get out of bed and go to the garage and check the rim. I would have seen that if it was silver. Its not bad, it will have to be bent a lot worse than that before I change it. The angle of the wheel makes it look worse. I am still happy about the bike. I will probably change the pic on here, though.

And the KDX isn't going anywhere....

Nice! Congrats! If you want some really stupid power put a fmf rev pipe on. The topend of my YZ was unstopable with one. Doesn't do anything for low but mid to top hold on....  I woods my yz now and switched to a gnarly. Great for the woods ,but she has nothing on that rev pipe.

I took it for my first real ride yesterday, and WOW. The suspension works so well, and the front wheel lifts easily. It likes to be pushed, and it gave me confidence to go faster even with worn tires.

This gives me a point of reference for where I should try to get the KDX. The shock is sooo much better. And I have the forks way too stiff on the KDX.
