Trip meter question

I am rebuilding an 87 200. The trip meter does not seem to be functioning. I see no visible issues internally and the battery pack is producing the correct voltage. Any recommendations for troubleshooting? If it is not repairable, are replacements available?

Are the two displays shiny silver or dark black? Dark black equals a dead cell.

Look on the upper right of this one from eBay. See the black creeping in? I have bought them with twoo good, one good/one bad, two bad.

If it is shiny silver and won't fire up, it may be an electrical / electronic concern. (bad circuit board, circuits, etc.

You can look on eBay for a used one.

The screens are black. I guess I'll just keep an eye out on ebay unless I can find a replacement for those cells.

Search for KDX200 meter. That is how I found it.

I think it is called "screen rot".

If you find replacement screens, please post back. A lot of those meters have bad display(s).
