Magura hydraulic clutch-will it fit an 87?

Post by phantomtracer »

Hi,

Just got a project bike, 87 200. My soft wimpy hands are used to a nice soft clutch. Anyone try to install a Magura hydraulic clutch upgrade?
It looks to be a tight fit with the KIPS in the way.

FWIW I went to a Magura on my '99 220. It was better but still not as light as I wanted. I'd look at the thread on adding a little length to the clutch arm as possibly a better solution. Just my $.02.

Have you had the engine side/clutch cover off to inspect the basket? Are all parts in great shape?

No, I haven’t inspected the clutch. Haven’t started the bike. I’m accumulating parts. One thing I noticed is the clutch is hard and I like to use the clake pro lever for the rear brake and clutch. This requires a hydraulic brake conversion and clutch conversion. Thought it would be a cool project.
