VForce3 on an '84 KDX200

Post by SRRobirds »

I put a VForce3 reed system on my '84 KDX200 and noticed the "vane" in the new reed cage doesn't line up with the stock intake boot. I rotated the vane 180 degrees and have a similar result. Is this normal for these VForce systems?

Yes they did. I sent them a note and they responded today with the recommendation to "port" the air guide. I did that with a Dremel and it looks pretty good. Just a bit surprised they didn't mention that in the installation instructions.

I guess that is about all you could do. Throw a pic up if you can.

Here are the "after" pictures after porting the VForce air guide. My technique was with a Dremel on the hard plastic material, finished with 600 emory paper. The surface feels pretty smooth to the touch, so hopefully no unwanted turbulence will be created.
