'81 KDX Transmission Oil Looks Ugly Fast

Post by Devon007 »

My '81 KDX 175 transmission oil has plenty of tiny silvery flecks in it even after just a few hours of riding. What is the prognosis here?
I've had the bike for a year and put probably 20 hours on it, mostly easy stuff, and it shifts without trouble.
I don't know anything about its prior history.
Thanks in advance.

"Quite normal" sounds good. So I don't need to do any preventive maintenance beyond the usual transmission oil changes? Yay!
