Need Torque Specs for '86 KDX200 Case

Post by SRRobirds »

Hi All -

After splitting the case on my 86 KDX200 to replace the crank bearings and seals, I'm ready to go back together with it. My manual says "screw in the crankcase bolts and tighten them with an impact driver". I have an impact driver, but would rather torque to a specific value. Do you guys know what that value is, or have a recommendation?

Thanks

I’d use the same value as the clutch case bolts - pretty sure those had a torque value in the torque table. Something like 60 in/lbs?

Yeah.

Skip that.

The later models have covers that are 78 inch-pounds I think.

Be sure to use a star pattern. Don't go around the clock.

The H/220 is 87 in-lbs and the E series was 69 in-lbs. If you stay in that ballpark you should be safe (5-7 ft-lbs or 60-84 in-lbs) I'd err more on the bottom edge of the scale.

87, not 78. My bad. I would go with 87.

Thank you, bufftester. I did thumb through and find the page showing 1995+ torque value.
