1982 kdx 175
So just got me a 82 kdx 175 and having problems with my carb keep getting gas in the cylinder and draining from the bottom hose. Manual says stock it’s a 34 mm round carb is this correct and can I use a 35 mm?

Welcome to kdxrider.net.
Have you checked the float valve in the bowl of the carburetor?

If the float valve is damaged, you might be able to buy a new one from Sudco or jetsrus. I am not sure. The diagram says size 3.30.
The rubber tip is pushed against an opening that allows fuel to flow into the bowl. If the carb portion where it seats is not gunked up and the rubber tip is fine, then it will seal. If it was sealing, then you wouldn't have a bunch of extra flow, if the bike is setting straight up and not leaned over. Whatever is in the bowl can go elsewhere, but if the bowl is not refilling, then it won't keep on going.

I'd check the petcock while you have it apart.
