Big bore 240cc piston

I have recently bought a 1984 KDX 200 fitted with a 240cc big bore kit. I found that while the piston was still serviceable when I pulled the engine down, I decided to do the entire rebuild so I knew what I had from the start.

After a bit of searching, I found that the big bore kits that are currently being sold for this bike utilise an LA sleeve and Woosner piston.

For those that are struggling to find a piston for your big bore kitted KDX.

The Woosner part number is 8093D700.

I found a company that is still selling the complete kit and were willing to sell the piston and head gasket separately. They are located in Runaway Bay, Gold Coast, Australia but I am guessing that other companies can also still supply them.

Hope this of some help to others.

Hi, what's the name of the business mate ?

I have 3 240cc 200's.

The original piston size is 72mm with the next sizes being 72.5mm and 73mm.

One of my bores is at 72mm as new, another is 72mm but needs to go out to 72.5 and the third is at 72.5 in good condition.

I'm trying to buy pistons, 1 at 72mm and 2 at 72.5mm.

Cheers.

I bought a 72mm sleeve off them for the 86-88 200 and they supplied a 73mm piston.

I don't want to bore it to 73mm straight up so I'm looking for a 72mm piston for it. They tell me they're out of stock of that size.

Try Wooster direct with the part number listed maybe. I did find a place in Canada that had pistons too but went with the Aussie company since I was after a 73mm piston anyway.
