Well dang.

I know the OEM does not cover valving. I can't remember any KDX or KX two-stroke manual covering valving.

More and thicker shims = more damping

fewer and thinner shims = less damping

I think my '87 had about 7 or 8 shims that were all the same width and thickness. True dinosaur age stuff.

Yeah, 1989 was the first year for modern style valving on a KDX.
