Repacking stock silencer

Post by CastyMctangles »

Just bought a bone stock 1991 200. Judging by the fact this bike has had little to no maintenance done on it I'm guessing the stock silencer has never been serviced. I'm wondering how to get the guts out of this thing without messing up the stock can. I have all the bolts out and the end cap off but the guts seem to be pretty well stuck in there. Thanks everyone.

IIRC there are a couple bolts about midway on the silencer that have to come out to let the baffle section slide out the rear. The front section doesn't come out. Not like the H series and 220 whose silencer was not repackable

Yeah I took all the bolt out but it seems like it's stuck in there pretty tight. Tried gripping the edge with some needle nose and wiggling it around but it still won't come out

Welp I got it. Just needed a bit more persuasion. What a freaking mess. Keeping the oem exhaust. Just going to pack it and reinstall.

Good. The OEM silencer on the E-series is the best I have ever seen and that's comparing it to anything else OEM or aftermarket for any bike.
