coolant overflow reservoir

Post by Isgc »

hey guys, so recently I noticed that there was some coolant leaking out of the vent hose that is connected to the top of the overflow reservoir. my bike shows no signs of an internal or external coolant leak. it seems to only leak when I am doing jumps, or going over very bumpy terrain. Could it just be that while doing jumps/bumpy terrain that the coolant in the reservoir is just sloshing around and coming out of the vent line? When I check the coolant level in the radiator itself, the level is always full. any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like exactly what is happening. If you aren't losing coolant it really isn't much of an issue. You could run the vent hose up the stem a bit (basically form a "hump" in the hose) and see if it continues, but if your level isn't dropping at the radiator I wouldn't give it much thought.
