Help! I'm rebuilding a 1991 KDX 200 engine, and I've replaced the crank seals and main bearings. I'm starting to put it back together, and everything is going well (many thanks to the thread on this board regarding case splitting). I have the cases back together, and the transmission shifts fine, and everything seems smooth. However, I have a small part (spacer?) and I don't know where it belongs. Here are pictures of it:
Can someone tell me what this is and where it goes?
Thanks!

It looks a bit like one of the spacers on the KIPS actuator assembly under the RH side cover (but I think that one is 15.2x17x4). If you have a caliper and can measure it that would help. Are you certain it came out of your motor?

I replied to your question on the kdx fb page...this is not a kips part. I just rebuilt my top and bottom end and the spacers on the valves have a flat spot on them. All three do. They look more like a ‘D’ instead of an “O”. At least that’s what I have in my 94’...that doesn’t appear to go to your bike. But I’m no kdxGuru. Just have took my bike down piece by piece and back together a few times! Does your bike not run after your rebuild?

I have it back together and it runs great! I have a bunch of other projects going on, so there is a chance that this part is from something else.
