Cracked Coolant Reservoir Need Replacement

Post by frontline510 »

Hi, Everyone. I just got done rebuilding my 1990 KDX200. All I need to do is fill coolant and gas. When filling the overflow, I accidentally cracked the tank all the way from the cap to the bottom. I cannot find a replacement. The original part is (43078-1095) and the replacement is (43078-1123). I cannot find either part available. Well i can find them, but at or over $50, when comparable parts sell for 20 on other old bikes. Does anyone know if a newer kdx200 or 220 reservoir would fit on the 1990? Are there any aftermarket tanks that would fit?
Thanks in advance.

I am considering a Motion Pro Coolant tank, or Blue Magic plastic tank repair.

You can check 43078-1140...it's the coolant overflow tank for the KLX300R. Looks nearly identical and can bemade to work, might have to mod a bracket or two. Other than that Ebay

You can always run without it. The KDX isn't a bike known for boiling over so it's normally necessary. My '90 didn't come with one when I bought it and, honestly, I never needed it.
