fork oil level

Post by 2stroke1971 »

Ive got the USD forks on my 1994 200......Ive heard between 100 and 110 mm from collapsed forks for the oil level...
is that with the rod/spring guide pulled up? or down? that displaces quite a bit in the down position.......

I went with measuring with the tubes in, both sides were close to level that way, I did add a little to each side.
spacers will have to wait, took some measurements to make some.
Yeah I know, get the right springs...I will when I got another $100 I can put into this one

I thought it was 85 mm on those forks?? I may be forgetful in my older age.

Springs out and rod down is how it is measured. Be sure to go by what the manual says when dumping oil from the inner tube into the outer tube.

"Get the right springs."
