Throttle cable universal fit?

Post by Gotanubike »

So I have this $25 rocky mountain atv/mc gift card in hand that I got for Dirt Bike magazine subscription. I decided to use it to put towards new clutch and throttle cables.

Looks like they have a clutch cable for a 1990 kdx200 but no throttle cables, only 1995+. Will that H series throttle cable fit? The only thing I can think of is the rubber boot at the carburetor end being different, if so can I just swap the boot from my cable to the new one or are there other fitment issues? Thanks

I looked at both and the only different I can see is the H is a 58mm longer and both have 140mm travel on the internal cable.

Thanks, guess I'll find out in July. I had them shipped to my aunt's in Maine and my mom will be visiting this summer. No way I was paying $40 for shipping to Ontario!

Throttle cable universal fit?

Got the cables early. The Tusk H series throttle cable worked without issue. A bit longer, but the metal crimpings at each end are the same and the boots can come off and be swapped.
