Hi, just joined the forum and straight away I am looking for advice! The fuel tap is leaking on my 1990 kdx200, I was just going to buy a repair kit but the tap looks to be the wrong one as it has been fitted so the tap is the wrong way around so that the fuel outlet would not be up against the barrel. I have looked all over for a tap but with no look, can anyone suggest a replacment or even post up a picture of the correct tap?

Re: Fuel tap replacment
Bikebandit.com has them;
51023: TAP-ASSY bikebandit part #831353 $46.36 http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorc ... 3#sch56547
You can probably find one on E-Bay, look for a petcock from 89-94, they are all identical. Maybe even a whole tank if it's cheap enough.

Re: Fuel tap replacment
Yes, that's definitely the wrong petcock. the E should have the lever on the side with the tap facing the rear. The H/As have the lever on the front and the tap facing down...don't know where that came from.

What kind of fuel line is that? I've seen stuff that looks like that in the plumbing section of Home Depot.

Fuel tap replacment
Thanks for all the replys, I should maybe have mensioned I am in the uk so parts maybe aren't as easily to come by as in the states. I have emailed a few breakers to try and find a tap as non of the aftermarket ones I can find in the uk look the same. I also will be replacing the fuel pipe along with quite a lot of other parts on the bike that have seen better days! The fuel pipe I thought looks like a piece if small garden hose! Deffenatly not factory standard! :)
