Once you get the KDX properly jetted, it makes a huge difference on how it runs. I always thought that jetting was some form of black art. Followed the jetting guide on this site and it was a simple affair. BTW, I rebuilt an '89 and wish mine looked like yours when I started out. But it was a great learning experience from splitting the cases to replace all the bearings; to one of my favorite things, part chasing. I have received more compliments on that bike and it is so fun to ride.

Keep up the good work.

Some photos of my progress. Shows the seat cover. The fenders are back on. Ill clean them up during the winter. I am having the hardest time bleeding my front brakes. I have flushed fluid through. Everything seems to be working as should........ spongy ass brake lever. I know certain dirt bike brakes have to be reverse bled. Any thoughts? I have gravity bled them. Pulled fluid through the system with a brake bleeder. While my wife spilled brake fluid all over the master cylinder and garage floor. I've pumped them up and bled about 28,000 times. I cant get a good bleed. There is a circular rubber boot over the two holes in the master cylinder. What are the odds to get that out and back in intact?

My headlight is only the fairing. I am still figuring out what to do about the actual lighting.

Getting there. Should be ready right as the snow fly's.

I kinda like the pics of old broken bikes. I wanna be like. "What the hell happened to you?"

You may want to try to be sure the master cylinder is at the highest point, if it is not.

Try opening the bleeder, depress the lever, close the bleeder then tie the lever to the grip and leave it that way overnight. It's worked for me on my old GL500. Also, you're going to want to re-route the lower portion of the front brake line to the inside of the fork tube.Image

Rebuilt the master cylinder. Brake works better. Currently looking for seat mounting brackets. Probably gonna get new tires. Then take it out and try to break it before winter so I can rebuild it again.
Started using tapatalk. Let me know "anyone" if you can see the picture

The 110 worked fine. So will the back up 114 I bought. lol Bike has ran good for a month. I still want to clean adjust the carb. See how much rebuilding I get done throught the winter. "I am in the market for a small slow suspension heavy quad for my wife" That will definitely take up time KDX time. But if she rides. I ride more. Im gonna take it to the back yard and beat it up for an hour. Later guys. I should be more active now due to weather change.

I bought a longer chain length. I rode a good bit today. The bike began to spooge out of the silencer. I’m thinking carb issues. Image

I took the front caliper apart today. I’m thinking about replacing the seals and trying to drown it in brake cleaner. Any of you kdx Jedi, think of any other reason I can’t get a good bleed? Master cylinder rebuilt.

Is the caliper 28 years old? Might need new fluid and dust seal.

“Cheap cycle parts.” If Russia made my parts I’d buy from them too. I start home town. But support anyone trying to make a buck.
