Greetings,
Relatively new owner of an ‘89 KDX200 here. Unfortunately bought the bike without a kickstand and am looking to add one. Preference is to use the stock mounting point and also spend as little as possible. OEM stands on eBay are pretty highly priced, but I was able to find replica RMX250 units that are much cheaper and look comparable. Any idea if they are interchangeable? Or other suggestions?
Thanks!

Re: Kickstand
The stands off the 96 and newer fit. All of the pieces interchange. You can still get them from Kawasaki. The 2 large mounting bolts might need shaved down, but it worked on my 89. The stand itself is a tad long so depending on tire size you might have to shave it down a little.

Re: Kickstand
I might potentially sell the kickstand I have here. It's been bent, heated, and straightened, all by me, as they often suffer frash damage or are leveraged on when strapping the bike down to trailer/truck bed and bend inwards, andno longer properly hold the bike up.
I have no plans to run it on either of my KDX220's, but it was holding the '99 up in the shop before I hoisted it up at working level to use as a testbed for developing a modern Showa 50mm shock fitment to it. Eventually, I'll be modifying the frame to accept a Trail Tech billet aluminum kickstand intended for Yamaha YZ125/250 or YZ250F, as I have done to my other '97 KDX220 already (that original kickstand now resides on a '93 KDX250, worked perfectly except the bolts were too long & the '89-'94 probably has the same blind holes (dtilled/threaded through the welded on kickstand mounting lug, but not drilled through the swingarm itself) as the KDX250 from the sounds of it, so you'll likely need to cut/grind down the bolts shorter, clean, & install with threadlocker, and then you're good.
I can bolt it back on and check it's alignment to see if it's gotten bent again since I straightened it years ago. I suppose I don't mind selling it, especially now as I found a triangle type slip-in motocross kickstand thing at the Tornado Single Trax trailhead 2 weekends ago when everyone else had left... It's a sign that I should unload the OEM stand I suppose!
