IMS Footpegs

Post by bigdhusker »

I am in the middle of a frame off build on a 1992 KDX. I bought the IMS Super Sport footpegs, they fit the frame mounts perfect but the stock footpeg springs are too wide to fit into the new pegs. Has anyone utilized these pegs, and what springs did you use?

I installed the same ones on my '89 last summer with no issues. The springs and pins were also worn out so I purchased new oem's online and everything fit fine. Sounds like your springs are stretched/elongated (if that's the right term?).

I had to bend the springs to get them to fit.

I had a similar problem on my H series with the IMS pro series pegs. Other forum members had them mount up with no problem, but I had to drill out the spring holes to a bit larger diameter and then also bend the spring straight. On the left foot peg I had to grind down some of the metal where the peg mounts to the frame. It was a process but definitely worth it!

I ordered new springs from RMATV and they worked with no problems!
