KX500 into CR frame

Post by mudsplasher »

I may be trading an atv for a KX500 and would be interested in making a KX/CR hycrid. Has anyone heard of this being done?

No, but it can all be done depending on your skills and tools.

I've built a CRDX hybrid using a '01 CR frame and a '02 KDX200 engine. I'll be talking to the KX owner tomorrow and I'll go from there.

I have the tools and fabrication skills, but not the riding skills. I had a CR480 that scared me half to death.

Most KX500 conversions that I have seen are done on KX-F's. They are really neat.

That bailey themed cr5 is awesome....So is the KX500AF. Pretty penny though...Those guys certainely charge a premium for their labor. See the 250F in the 80 frame?

Jer500, did you make an extension bracket for your silencer at the rear most mount? Im building a 02 500 in a 04 KX250 frame and was thinking of making a bracket instead of cutting and welding the silencer. Makes replacement much easier in case of crash damage.
