1. fmf gnarly desert pipe kid said guys online say its better for that bike? i ride woods only and if its good il keep it if not what is better?

2. found a front end for 05 kx250f complete with pro circuit set forks for 150 bucks and pro taper trip clamps would that work for the swap?

3.what things go bad on theeses bikes and what should i check when i go to look at it?

4.is a flywheel weight nessisary for the small bore? i know they do wonders for woods ridin but ive never owned anything smaller than a 250.

5.what are best mods to do that are nessisary?

For a 220 do all of the RB mods. Problems to look for are the same as any bike. The "Desert" pipe from what I have heard is better than the woods pipe due to the 220's power delivery. The 250f forks will work fine, most people have used older KX forks for no other reason than price for the most part. A fly wheel weight is completely up to you, the kdx has a heavy flywheel to begin with. I would ride it for a while before you decide. You will be suprised with what a "little" bike will do. In the woods a KDX is a force to be reckoned with. You should be able to at least keep up with if not go past a MX 250 in the woods. Go for it!

+1 on the RB mods. Well worth the money and really wake up the bike. the 220 doesn't really need a flywheel weight IMO.
Things to check:
Jack it up and check for play in rear suspension and wheel bearings.
Check air filter.
Be prepared for the motor to be noisy. Noise should get quieter when you pull the clutch.

what do you mean by rb mods? what does rb stand for? and any bike i buy i put on stand and check everything. the only bike i had that had flywheel weight was a kx 500 and a gas gas 300

The KDX comes stock with a flywheel weight, because it's a trail bike. The desert pipe is better for the 220. For RB mods, look at http://www.rb-designs.com
