1996 KX Forks on a 2001 KDX 200

Post by mn250r »

Hello, I have read NUMEROUS posts on here regarding the conversion. I got a complete front end off a 96 KX 250, and having a local race shop that custom builds forks for bikes rebuild mine. I would like to have the bike have the same geometry as it does now. I have read the KX forks are 1 3/4 inch taller than a kdx?? If so, I was thinking of having them install a 1"lowering spacer internally in the forks. Or does anyone else have recommendations on what I should do? Thank You!

I ran the same basic forks on my '90 KDX. All I did was slide them up in the clamps to get the height right. That said, having them internally shortened would be the best way to do it.
