KDX Headlight Mask Mounting with KX Forks

Post by VTMTcowboy »

Hello,

Does anybody have pictures of their mounting setup for a KDX headlight mask on a KX fork swap? I have some idea where I could use metal flat rectangular brackets and bolt those to the stock headlight brackets then drill into the two tabs on the lower triples. But, if anybody has a better idea please let me know.

Thanks!

Fredette recommended the Acerbis straps for mounting these. I finally did mine and really like it. This helps it take impacts better because it isn’t rigidly held in place (ask me how I know!).

Right on, I'll look at them. Do you have a picture of the mount up by any chance? Thanks.

That’s probably the best I pic have. Use some washers on the rubber tips to keep them from backing through the old bolt holes on the plastic. It’s working great for me and has proven durable.

There are 3 pics of my bike with the KX fork conversion using the Acerbis 2042830001 straps. Mine look a little different than the ones pictured above. I used the KDX factory brackets for the top mounts and the straps on the lower mounts.

That’s a good way too, and I tried that. The 4 strap method is less rigid which helps me because I kiss a lot of trees! (Still can’t get over how beautiful and clean your shop is JohnS!)
