1993 KX500 Forks on 2003 KDX220R?

Post by gumbo583 »

I have been doing some research, and I found out that people have done fork swaps with 1994-1995 KX500 forks but not 1993 KX500 forks. I looked at the OEM parts and the triple clamps of the 1993 KX500 forks have a different part number compared to the 1994-1995 KX500 triple clamps. They appear to be the same, but I am not sure. Wondering if anyone has done a swap with 1993 KX500 forks and had to knurl the stem or do some type of stem swap. My goal is NOT to do a stem swap, but have it directly bolt on (other than the axel, wheels, brakes, ect.)

As far as I know it is still a straight bolt on.

The offset is different. The point of KX500 clamps and other KX500 parts is to avoid a stem swap.
