KLX300R Fork Weight
I have a set of KLX300R forks. Someone in the past had asked about weight, so here we go to the bathroom scale...
KLX300R forks:
without fork guards
without fork guard guides
without upper and lower bearing races
with triple clamps (four upper clamp fork bolts, two lower clamp fork bolts, plastic cap, bearing tension nut, two handlebar clamps and four bolts, steering stem nut and washer)
with lower bearing (no race)
with upper bearing (no race)
The weight was 24 pounds on a bathroom scale. Sorry, but no way to measure less than a full pound (half, quarter, etc.)

Re: KLX300R Fork Weight
Any chance you know the weight difference (if there is one) between the KLX and the stock KDX forks?

Re: KLX300R Fork Weight
I just weighed my stock 03 220 forks on my bathroom scale & they were right at 20 pounds.
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Molly's 70, what was that with / without?
Also, I am assuming mine have the stock springs.

Re: KLX300R Fork Weight
That was w/o the triple clamps. Just the two factory forks. I have the clamps also. I could re weight if needed with clamps. I installed an 06 KLX 300R front end on my 03 KDX 220.

Re: KLX300R Fork Weight
If the parts as easy to get to, please re-weigh with the clamps. Thanks!

24 pounds with the clamps & forks, no axle.

Both 24 pounds. How the heck did that happen. Never would have thought that.

Re: KLX300R Fork Weight
The internals are quite similar. The overhang of the conventional forks pays off for weight retention.

Re: KLX300R Fork Weight
Don't quote my cause it was some time ago, but I believe the whole conversion saved about 4 lbs. total.
