Same as the 1997 KX125 / KX250 forks..

Okay I bought the RM fork guards but I can not get enough slack out of the brake line to line up the clamp to bracket, WTF!
I'm using my stock kdx brake line and caliper.
From the photo it looks like you can pull it over but you can't.

Mine are actually slid up slightly on the brake line to make it work. As long as it's got a good "bite" and holds the line in place, that's all that matters.

B737,

What mod did you have to do to keep your headlight?

My lower tree doesn't have the right holes now. I can build a bracket, but would like to see other options.

I have an aftermarket headlight assembly that came with straps that go around the forks. Works great. There is no need to modify a bracket with this setup.

I used the KDX head light with the upper mounts flipped from side to side and a pair of the rubber straps on the bottom of the light. Worked out pretty good. You could use the rubber straps on the top and the bottom too if you wanted.

Gave up on the RM fork guards and fabricated a simple bracket.
Had to cut a slot thru the guard and slid in the bracket, it's tight so we'll see if it holds after this weekends ride at the Sandy Lane Enduro.

Is that piece not going to hit the fork seal area??

Yeah, without the upper guide in place, and the brake line tension pulling back on the guard, I'd really keep an eye on that, would suck to end up damaging a fork tube

No its flush up against the guard, the real test will be when I ride this weekend, I'll report back if it doesn't hold up, but its nice and tight.

I'll be taking the guide with me just in case there is an issue. I could take the bracket apart and place the guide back on the fork tube and just us tie wraps to hold the brake line in place to the guide, I initially though of do that in the first place but I though this looks a little cleaner. Will see what happens.

My holeshot device uses countersunk screws, so that might be something to consider on a homemade fork guard brake hose guide mount.

I mounted my line holder on the outside and used rivets from the inside so the smooth head was toward the fork and I used the guide too.

I'll see what I can do. It'll probably take a day or two.

I rode 70 miles today in the South Jersey whoops and the bracket held up well.
Rbates still like to see your setup.

Sweet! That's what it's all about. Your's works well, other's work well, the KDX community has options. Thanks for the input.

So since October of 2012, you guys haven't had any issues not running guides with your fork guards?
