I got a line on a 2000 KX500. The "expert" that's selling it claims the forks (triple clamps and stem) are a direct bolt on to the KDX. In theory I could buy the KX swap the forks, then sell the KX at a reduced price.

Is this BS?

It is a direct replacement.

Keep the 500 and just buy some 125 forks and wheel for the KDX.
You will have a lot of fun on it. I love mine.
Don't ruin the big bore.
