Bar dampeners, help!

Those little rubber cones (dampeners?)that connect the bars to the triple clamp are not really working, they have gone in so far that tightening the nuts just warps the washers and the bars twist with the slightest know.
I don't have time to chase up a new set, is there anything I can do quickly to remedy the situation? I was thinking about adding some other washers to strengthen the original ones which seem a bit weak.
Any suggestions? I'm going riding tomorrow and need a quick fix.

I dont know what you could do. Sounds like they need to be replaced

You might be able to find those expandable rubber plugs for plumbing at the hardware store that are that size that would work.

I don't know about his, but the dealers around here don't carry much in stock.

This isn't going to help you tonight but the Scott's Performance bar mount cones are much better than stock. I crash a lot and they hold up really well.

I've never seen these cones (except for pics) but I'd think a guy could go to the hardware store and buy some rubber bumpers. And a little bit of work with a sander or a dremel I'd think you could make something that would work
Or make em out of uhmw and never worry about it again

That's useful, I actually replaced the cones recently with some that appeared new, however it seems the rubber had weakened with age.

One of my farovite things about swapping to the KLX forks was that the bar clamps are one piece with the top triple. No more tweaked bars!

I had a friend make me a set completely out of aluminum. Didn't feel any more vibration than usual.

My KX triples did not come with mounts
Got some mounts today and they did not come with cones
So I made some out of uhmw tonight
I won't really know if they work until I get the forks done

I would like to make some as well. Do you happen to recall the dimensions? OAL? Taper angle?

Cut em out with a hole saw on my drill press and figured out a way to put em on an axle and spun em down on the bench grinder

The shop didn't have any from Kawa, so I bought a pair for a CR. The owner told me customers said they worked better. I don't know if that's true, but they've held up fine for several rides (and a couple of small spills).

I used the Scotts cones in mine too. Work great, no more crooked bars.
