im in need of a new seat cover for my 01 kdx 220. i was looking through my dennis kirk catologe and all i found was one brand of seat cover for the kdxs and its like $50 bukcks. I also found that there are a lot of covers for the mx bikes like 125, 250, 450s for $20-$30.

anyone no if the mx bikes seats are the same? or any seat covers that are resnonable priced?

im looking for a "grip seat cover". i think those are nice

I don't believe any of the MX seatcovers will fit.

This is what I bought:

rockymontainatvmc.com
Part# 1045870016 - Factory Effex All Grip seat cover. $39.99 ( plus $7 shipping if you don't order over $99 worth of stuff )

It has worked out to be a great cover. And I received it 2 days after ordering.

Have you ever ridden a bike with a gripper seat? Are you sure that's what you want to do to your ass? Monkey Butt can ruin a ride in short order...

Gripper seats are sweet, what are you talking about? Easier to stay "planted" on the bike when sitting down.

I have no problems... once again we absolutely don't agree.

I like to move around on my bike and not be restricted by the seat. It has enough grip. I am not doing whips...

Well, I guess to each their own ass! I like how a gripper keeps you on (especially in wet conditions) but for regular trail rides I'll stick with my soft, slick comfortable seat.

Aren't we supposed to be standing up most of the time on a dirtbike?

You can... I don't. I actually sit more than stand up.... I like my soft seat... saves energy.

My kx seat is surprisingly soft. And my gripper seat cover has been rubbing me the wrong way.

+1 brother. Saving energy is the key to success in off road! :supz:

Only stand up for the cameras!

I don't use a gripper seat cover, I have a GUTS cover with green sides. My last bike had a gripper cover and I liked it. I have an extra KDX grip cover lying around if you want. Brand new.,

I have both. Put the new gripper right over the older (ripping) guts racing. I like the gripper better - just have to lift your butt a bit before moving up or back.
