1984 KDX odometer pick up

The elctronic odometer pick up on my 1984 KDX does not seem to be working. Any clues as to what could be wrong?
If the odometer is the same as our 88 KDX you might just need to disassemble the pickup unit on the front hub. The 86-88 C Model KDX's have a magnetic reed switch that acts as a "counter" for the odometer. The reed switch gets dirty and just needs to be cleaned. I did see a similar reed switch in an Allied Electronics Catalog if a replacement is required.
Can you post a picture of the odometer and hub?
