How much lighter is a gnarly and an FMF silencer than the stock setup? I have several guys saying, "man..the first thing you Have to do is get rid of that stock silencer....its sooooo heavy there is no sense in keeping it".... I am having a hard time believing its "that" much heavier than the FMF??
Thanks!

No reason to ditch the stock silencer. It's a bit heavy, but it's nice and quiet and doesn't rob very much power at all. Meaning moving to an aftermarket is not going to give you any noticeable performance increase.
The pipe on the other hand, change it out ASAP. You'll be amazed at the difference a proper expansion chamber will make.

If you think about it.... do you really care if the silencer weighs more? What are you doing that makes you think... "MAN... I need to ditch some weight!"
The stock silencer is practically a no maintence item.... you can't say the same for a aftermarket one.....

I crap the difference in weight everyday. Not having to repack is SWEET.

Its just funny how many experts have opinions.... I certainly value yours. The guy that told me to ditch the silencer was a long time 220 rider and rider in general.... I was not in a hurry to get rid of it!
Another guy that is real particular about his machines and was a long time 200 rider, said the stock pipe is actually great and since it was double wall was more durable and such....
It'll all be stock till at least Nov/Dec.... At that point... I "might" get a new pipe and I WILL send my stuff to RB.... then by February I'll get to see what THAT DOES!

Another advantage of the stock silencer is that it's pretty strong. I've bashed mine on rocks several times and the only thing I've had to do is pry it back out of the way of the wheel.

That pipe is double walled BUT.... It is made out of super thin metal....basically half the thickness of a FMF pipe. And it is not optimized for performance.... it is optimized for quiet operation. You will want to replace the pipe immediately. You will feel a huge improvement in torque and topend.
You can think of us a your secret weapon ... we will not steer you wrong on this stuff. This is our passion......

FMF pipe for performance,
FMF silencer for looks.
basically.

So the RB stuff is so affordable...its on the list... I"ll save my pennies for the pipe... I am NOT interested in top end... UNLESS I was to dual sport... but lets just leave that out... so for low end...and mid... what pipe is best coupled with RB stuff?

gnarly torque wood, not the desert or rev pipe would be my choice for the 200.

Well there's some interesting fuzzy info.
I just weighed a stock silencer for shipment . About 8 lbs.
I'm not unbolting FMFs just to figure out how much fuzzy drops. Really. You do the math.

I have an FMF silencer in the garage. I'll weigh it tomorrow and compare with stock to see how big a road apple he's gotta drop. Uh, someone else can measure that when the time comes...

Note to Sapphire: you really gotta keep your threads intact and away from these hi-jacks. If you let them go wild, they always end up in one of three places. And we've already arrived at one of those destinations. You know the other two...

LMAO! That episode was hilarious. Turns out the previous record holding crap grew up to be Bono. <Sorry for the hijack, I will be interested to see the true weight difference>
