'93 KDX 250-Is there a way to do this without removing the shifter shaft? Maybe a special tool is required?

I did my output shaft this way but have never heard of anyone doing a shifter shaft.

So are you saying the seal around the shifter shaft is not meant to be replaced? What am i supposed to do about all the oil leaking out of there?

I misunderstood. I though what you were saying is that you were going to try to do it without removing the shifter. Sorry.
Yes... you can replace the seal.

It's really no big deal removing the shaft if that part scares you

Not really, but I would probably need to buy a new gasket or two wouldn't I? I guess it's either buy a puller tool or buy a gasket. Can you explain the procedure for removing the shift shaft for me? There's nothing very detailed in the manual that I can see.
