I run lock on grips on my mountain bike and love them. I see someone has finally made them for dirt bikes too. However, rocky mountain says it is machine specific and doesn't list the KDX. What in the world is machine specific about these? I am considering ordering them for a KX 125 and putting them on, my bike is about to have a KX125 front end anyway. Thoughts?

Throttle grip molded directly to an O.E. spec throttle tube.

Find a model that has the same throtle tube as the KDX and you're all set.

Hmmm, the part numbers don't seem like an exact match. In looking at the OEM catalogs, the throttle tubes between the KX and KDX share some of the same part numbers, but are not identical. On Rocky Mountain, the Motion Pro throttle tubes between the KX and KDX differ by 1 digit 1015250006 vs 1015250007.

You can use some KX throttle assemblies.

I am currently using a '95 throttle assembly. That is everything that goes on the handlebar and a '95 KX 125 throttle cable.

I can't speak for other years. I found this by mixing and matching parts during a hybrid build.

The KX throttle assembly has a better mechanism, IMO, than the OEM KDX.
It also has a slightly shorter pull.

You know, when you buy an OEM throttle tube, it has the grip molded on. It was heck to cut off to put the grip on I wanted!

Did you have to modify cable at all? I want to run ODi lock-on grips as well and am going to buy a new throttle tube and cable, just wondering what I should buy?
