hybrid questions

been thinking about an 200 hybrid for quite some time and I may have found a roller for a decent price but i have a few questions for those that have done one:

1, it seems all hybrid go with the stock pipe, what's the reason? too hard to mod a fmf? I really like my gnarly pipe (torque or whatever you wanna call it, that's the one giving more bottom end) How complicated will it be to keep it?

2, what's the reall advantage to get a 18 versus 19 wheel? (aside from ride height, lower center of gravity and shorter turning radius?)

From all I've read, it seems like the FMF just doesn't "bolt-on." HOwever, I don't think it takes much effort to get it to fit--just a dent to clear the radiator, I think? The best thing to do is to really take your time positioning the motor when designing your mounts to get everything to fit well. Of course, this is only from what I've read. I'm in the midst of doing the alignment and engine positioning right now. I did choose the PC pipe because of reports that it can fit with no mods.

On the 18" front, it depends on where you're riding. I'm going with the 18" because I want to run a trials tire. I'm primarily riding this rig, if it ever gets finished, in the Pennsylvania rocks. When I ride the sands of NJ, I run my Husky CR 125 with its 19". The lighter weight of the 19" might the the little 125 spinning faster than an 18" would, and I think it also helps in the whoops (we have plenty of those in NJ). Pinch flats really aren't much of a problem in the NJ woods, so I'm comfortable sticking with the 19" here. For the rocks of PA, however, I'm totally going 18".
