Hello everyone. I've been lurking here for awhile (long enough to restore a 94 KDX250 and add KX front forks) I recently picked up a 95-6 KX 250 with a weak motor and was toying with the idea of a hybrid. I love the low end grunt of the 250 but being a smaller guy am not real pleased with the weight of the KDX. I've searched through the hybrid forum but didn't find much on a KDX250/kx match up. The biggest hurtle I can see is the fact that the swingarm mount for the KX is considerably narrower than that on the KDX. Anyone done this that can offer a few ponters. I do have fabrication skills and a pretty well stocked garage.
Thanks for any tips you might have.

If you like the KDX250 motor I think you would love it in a 95 KX250 frame.
Narrowing the motor/widening the swingarm is something you'll just have to deal with. You'll probably have to deal with the swingarm pivot bolt being a larger diameter on the KX frame, and therefore have to drill the KDX250 motor mount.
I'd pull the KDX250 motor and the KX250 swingarm and get them both on the bench. The front sprocket HAS to go where it HAS to go - that pretty much decides what has to hapen to the rest of the parts.
On my CR I had to widen the swingarm and narrow the case.
