how much do shops usually charge for this type of thing.Im talking piston, rings, gaskets etc.Anyone know? Ballpark figure...the bike is running fine but this site has me paranoid that my stock piston is gonna blow up like a handgrenade any day now. i would love to tackle this myself but i got bad luck with tools.I know its $130 for the Wiseco Piston Kit Pro-Lite Standard (66 mm)..and $20 for the gasket kit..is this all i need?

Probably a couple hundred dollars.... Depends on their hourly rate and what is on their books as a typical topend rebuild.

A 66mm piston is for a 200. The 220 is the bike with the grenading piston problem.

agreed w/ Mike. Stock pistons are fine for 200's. There are even some reasons to prefer them to forged pistons like wiseco, depending on who ya ask. For a 220 wiseco is pretty much your only option.

Inda is talking about the shop charge...which IS what you asked about.
That would NOT include the parts.
So...you have a 200...or you referred to the wrong piston? Which?
If you have a 220...get that OEM piston OUT of there!!
Somebody recently took their 220 apart..found a crack in the piston skirt.

Get a compression check done on it. Should be around 150 psi. If it is your good for a while. Any idea how many hours or miles are on it?
