I know that the top end is different for the 200's and 220's but is the bottom end the same? I found a good deal on a 220 but I like the feel of the 200 better! I was thinkg I could slap a 200 cylinder, head and carb on it. is this ok?

you'll want a piston too, but you knew that.

Re: Is the bottom end the same?
No.
Re: 'I was thinkingI could...'
Yes.
Having the two top-end/carb setups, you could change back and forth whenever you wanted. That could be kind'a handy.
If...by 'top end' you mean the performance/engine characteristics and by 'bottom end' you mean the same.
If you mean
physically different, the bottom ends (transmission/crank) are the same.

So if i install a 200 cylinder, piston, carb & head. I will basically have a 200 with the 200 feel.
the reason I ask is that I dont like the feeling of the 220.

Then, yes. You will have a 200. Not even 'basically', but pretty much in fact.
Well...the 220 came with an o-ring chain and the 200 didn't. There's that.

No. For that you would have to start with an 'E' series 220.

The 'E' too hunnert is about as different from the 'new' 200 as the 220 is to either of 'em.
KIPS not too hot..they break more often than 'new' models (220 or 200) but port timing is considerably different. Wibby's bike pulls down low
real good. I've never found it particularly comfortable ergo-wise..but I've not ridden it enough to get used to it, either. I
have ridden it enough to loop it once or twice though!

I need a motor for a KX 125 Hybrid so I guess the comfort ergo-wise would not make a difference. Although down low puling would be cool

The lower seat and usable "from the factory" fork make the E series KDX a better bike for slow terrain. That low seat is not for everyone. I also think the E engine hits harder but maybe I am biased :)

I'm pretty sure my next green bike will be a KX250, motor sold to karter, w/ E model 200 mill installed...
