Old fork seal plugs

I've done this for a long time and just thought I'd pass it along for others to use.

When cleaning an engine and you have the exhaust and carb pulled you need to seal the openings.

What I've always done is save old fork seals and cut a 1/4" or more section depending on the opening size, wrap plastic over the seal, pinch and insert the seal & plastic into the exhaust chamber or carb boot, then trim the excess plastic. The fork seal has a spring steel band and will seal the plastic to the opening.

REMEMBER TO ALWAYS STUFF A RAG INTO THE OPENING BEFORE PUTTING IN THE PLUG.

Now your opening is plugged for cleaning.

Timely! I'm looking to plug the front of my street bike to clean the engine.
Don't have enough old fork seals, but I can use the same plan with other pcs.

Thanks
