kdx200 Big Bore/Stroker

Looking at getting a KDX200 (would look for kdx220 but hard enough to get a decent KDX200 in Australia let alone the kdx220). Was wanting to know if you can just get a rebuild kit for the kdx220 to make the engine bigger? Or is there any other way?

Eric Gorr (or another builder) can do a 225cc. A 240cc can be done w/ a sleeve, but the 225 is mucho recommended over that. No stroker crank unfortunately.

I am no DXpert, newbie here. But I did ride a well tuned older DX with a steel sleeve-240 kit and FMF torque pipe. It had way more bottom end than a 200, but about the same mid range and top end of a well tuned and piped 200. I think the carb was bored on the 240, but not sure. I remember thinking it would be a great motor for very technical terrain on a wet day, but not a "ripper" motor at all. It was very easy to ride, reasonably fast, you could easily ride a gear high unlike a 200. Good, but different.

Never doubted the 240, but would never give up my nicasil bore for it. I'm sure a Gorr 225 is a tractor.

I'd ride the 200 as is first before deciding to big bore it. I don't find my engine lacking in any situation. I had more problems with the suspension than the engine, so sink your money in there first. The suspension mods will help you ride better and faster on the KDX than any engine mods you may want to do, I promise.

my 93 is 2mm overbore (guess its a 225 as its maxed) with a mild frp port job,pc pipe and boysen reeds was a absolute beast.There where many times all 250 mx'ers saw was the back fender

but I cant agree more with those that say work on the suspension 1st,my friend who used to ride in top level pro 125's cried at how bad the bike was suspension wise with the power it had.
