lowering suspension

I'd like to lower a 1999 KDX220 suspension as much as possible for my daughter.
My question is related to the devices sold to modify the rear suspension linkage. I'm guessing I can just reposition the front forks in the clamps to tune the horizontal plane.
I've seen one mfgr on the web that offers a dogbone link that may take out about 3" of height.

Is there more than one mfgr or ways to do this?
Have any of you tried this?
How does the suspension perform after this modification?
Any suggestions for adjusting the forks?

OK, it's done. Finished. Complete. And ridden.

Went with Kubalinks (Thanks Norm). The -3 links installed with no problems.
Softened up the rear preload, lowered the fork tubes till they just about hit the handlebars, stock fork springs (soft), and worn down rear knobbie.

With all of that, she had no problem touching the ground, and was flyin' at Soggy lake bed and surrounding area over the turkey day holiday. I even rode the thing through some trails and it was great.

Sure was fun following my two kids, both on KDXs. Although they were going wayy faster than I was.

Another satisfied KDXer in the family.

Did it result in a chopper feel, or does it still handle like a dirt bike?

Feels just like the regular suspension, except you can put your feet down!!

Sweet, I had one setup like this too. Works very well. I would image the BEST thing to do would be to actually have the forks cut, but for recreational use no biggie....The feet on the ground issue is most important.

Any problems with the rear tire hitting the fender?

I just put a set of Norm's #1 links on mine and can't tell any difference...

Have not seen any of that, but have not hit any jumps that would bottom it out. Yet.

Are you saying that you can't tell any difference in performance or height?
