I am just wondering what you guys take on the trail with you? On my ATV or snowmobile, I have plenty of storage space so I can take a lot of stuff but with my KDX, my space is limited to my camel back. Since I am new to this sport, I was wondering if you guys have some special or important items you pack with you. So far I have been taking the basics like water, clif bars, multi tool, spark plug and head lamp. Any other good ideas?

Seriously, i carry spark plug, small ratchet, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, flat screw driver,in the fender pack. In the camel back: small rope, duc tape, cell phone lighter, small rag, water.
I don't need most of that stuff since I never ride alone and we're never too far from the truck (10-15 miles at most)

Depends on the ride. If I ride within about 10 miles of the house, I just bring a cell phone for when I fall off and can't get out of the woods on my own....you know....for when they have to call the helicopter in for you.

On bigger rides, where I'm out all day,

Cell Phone
Water
2 Nutrition bars
Tool kit
Map
GPS
Bug Spray or Bug Wipes
Paper Towels
Duct Tape/Electrical Tape
Lunch Money

Keys,phone, water,plug,wrench, leatherman, bailingwire, and a camera!

I carry plugs (for others ) tie-raps, chain master link, and the most useful tool...a gerber multitool plier.

Hahaha....funny, I have thrown my .40 cal Glock in the pack before.....it is a cold world, everyone needs to pack their own heat. Just kidding, we will do some target shooting sometimes.

some good ideas listed....the bailing wire is a good idea.

A lighter, (cloves need to be lit)
Camelback with plenty of water, (Me and the Radiator)
Pistol (Ya never know)
Camera (Case my buddies feel like showing off)
Candy bar (When ya need a burst of energy)
Radio (sometimes yelling F****! just aint enough)
Phone (I might get a text)
bailin wire (fender fixer)
wet ones (lil burning sensation never hurt anyone)

I carry most of what you guys listed but I also carry a coil of rope on the back of my chest-protector - coiled around the back-mounted water bottle. A small pulley is kept in my fanny pack. I ride alone and sometimes get off-trail and need the rope/pulley to get the bike right side up where noth'n else seems to work on narrow, brush-lined hillside trails.

coulda used that the other day!

I carry all the usual stuff everybody else listed as well as a small first aid kit, LED light, Emergency Blanket, quick steel and a pull strap/ty rope zip tied to the forks.

Folds up to less than the size of a pack of cigarettes. Great as a poncho if you're caught in the rain (and you know you're spending the night in the woods). Heck...you could used the thing for a TENT or lean-to if you had some twine/rope and something to use as a frame (sticks..string it between a couple of trees etc.)

I've used 'em for riders found lying in the middle of the track with bones sticking out of stuff...waitin' for the helo/ambu. (Strictly speaking I lent the use of mine..not to make it sound like I was out in the boonies, came across a compound fractured wreck and saved some poor schleppe.)

I've never unfolded and sat under one myself. I should do that.

I've never tried to fold it back up, and re-use it..but I doubt that would be happening.

They're cheep.
