Head stem bearing gap?

When I pressed my bearing on the stem there is a small gap in between the bearing and lower tripple clamp is this suppose to be flush? also there is a small ridge on the kdx stem where the bearing would stop. Since the KDX stem is in the kx clamp this ridge is up higher because the thickness of the kx stem is not as much as the kdx so now what?
